Hook like there's no tomorrow.

I've always wanted to do a Paul Simon / Art Garfunkel afghan.
They are two of my favorite artists of all-time.
So I finally finished this yesterday.

This is tunisian crocheted using a size J cabled afghan hook.
The background is Essentials yarn. It feels like terry cloth.
I also used I Love This Yarn in teal, brown, and antique white.
The yarn for the green shirt had no label. I got that at Goodwill. It had a nice retro-looking color to it.

I began by uploading this photo to micro revolt's knit pro graph generator.

It's a black and white photo but I wanted to add some color to it so I chose some brown for Art's turtleneck and the green for Paul Simon's shirt.
The rest I just decided to use teal for the hair and all the outlines and face features.

After the graphed part was done I went around and around and around the whole thing in the background yarn color doing a basketweave stitch. It keeps the afghan from curling and frames it nicely.

These two will be 70 years old next year.

I guess it's not so terribly strange to be 70 after all.

I love their music so much!
