A beautiful bag! I love your choice of fabric. I'm all about the color purple! Cheesy  What a wonderful Mom you have, to gift you that machine and then spend time teaching you how to sew. I would have to agree with everyone else, that sure doesn't look like a first project. Keep going, you've got talent!
What a great mom, and a great job! I recognize that fabric-- I made a nursing cover out of the same thing in blue. And curtains with same fabric-green large butterflies though. It's so awesome to work with! I was always stupid when first buying fabric because I'd pick flashy fabrics and didn't know things that stretched and sparkled were nightmares to sew.
I also love purple, and the shape-- beautiful taste!

Thank you for all the kind words, I'm definitely going to keep sewing.  My mom is wonderful...and a very patient teacher.  She walked me through setting up the machine and filling my bobbins rather than just "doing it herself it's faster".  I'm a hands-on learner, so that'll help me later.  She's the best Smiley

I can tell you, as a mom who taught her own daughter to sew quite a while back, that she is probably more proud of your work than even YOU are!!

Good job, and GREAT first project!

Keep it up! We want to see more!

I love that purse - it's exactly the style I like and so relaxed and pretty!  Great job, beginner or otherwise!

well done on your first project.

if you like bags and such, you should google wild ginger wild things. it's a free software to make your own patterns and print off at home.

and she has many colored pins

too close to her,
the pins stick farther in.
