I have a small obsession with using suiting fabrics for bags, I think they make for some of the best textures. I made this big hobo bag last night. The weave is really varied, almost like a wool, with creams mixed in with the light blue. So I played up the creamy colors with a doily and flowers. Then the buttons add a military feel which is always nice and ironic for girly bags  Cheesy
Also, this was my first time successfully putting a zipper into a bag yaaay!

And here is a smaller purse. I made this a few months ago and never posted it but its main body is also done in suiting.

Hooray for zippers! I love the bag on top. I'm slightly obsessed with purses, so I'm always changing bags.

I am in LOVE with the first one!  I love the contrast between the masculine suit fabric and the feminine doily and flowers!

Love these purses!!  I like the pleats of the 2nd purse.  And yeah, for conquering zippers!

I really like the second bag - the colors are great.  The satin would make it perfect to go from work to a nice dinner with DH.
