So it was my friends birthday recently, and being the broke college student i am i tried to make some jewelry with her favorite foods. I did an alright job Smiley Im still a clay newb.

The bracelet. Wish i had better pictures of the charms individually, i didn't even think about it.

There are a few donuts, a cookie, a chocolate bar, and some nice chocolatey beads, among other miscellaneous charms.

Some other donut charms

Watermelon Smiley

Sushi Bracelet with fortune cookie

and a little espresso cake, i couldn't texture the cake well, any suggestions?

CC is VERY welcome. Im still new to the clay and i would really like to know more! Smiley

that is awesome!
the only suggestion i would give you would be making the fortune cookie a necklace pendant to match the sushi bracelet  Wink

Your donuts and cake are really nice! If you're talking about making the spongy cake texture, unfortunately the only way is to get a needle and poke tiny little holes in the cake. It's very tiring and tedious! A cheater's way would be to get a toothbrush and press it against the clay, but I don't think it looks realistic enough. It looks more like cookie texture than spongey cake texture.

See this: .
See how there are little holes in the cake? I got tired here doing all the slices, but more holes = more realistic.

Pepper would work, but can have odd-looking results, sometimes more like lines than bubbles and crumbles.  Sandpaper works pretty nicely to start off, then going in with a pin and roughing it up a bit more finishes it nicely.

The sushi bracelet is awesome!!

One suggestion: putting glaze on frosted treats makes them look even more realistic!
