The elastic I use is usually called picot (edge) elastic, it comes in different sizes and elasticity.
Panties are quite easy to make, bras can be rather frustrating in the beginning. I started making bras because it is nearly impossible to find anything with a bandsize smaller than 32. The bra with lace all over is a 28G, the partially padded bra is a 30F.
I get enough support in the bras I make myself.
I have a bra pattern in several sizes on Burda Style.

Wow....
makes me wonder what I've been doing with my 'no work' 'no school' time!

I'm sure my fella wouldn't object if I spent all day making cute panties.

I have a really hard time finding bras my size too (I'm a 30 band myself).

Thanks for the link zowiewoahie - problem is I'm in Australia and it looks like the shipping cost won't make it worthwhile (especially if they don't end up fitting right).

Psycho_Bitch: Thanks for the information - I think I'm currently about a 32DD/E, so if they hold you up, they should work with me Smiley. I'm assuming you mucked around with the sizing, as the burda pattern only goes to a D

I drafted the bra patterns on Burda Style. Pattern #2 is for 32DD/E, they run a little bit small, so pattern #3 might be better, it's a bit trial and error with the sizes.

Color me envious!  I'm a 34H and pay far too much for good bras (and they still never last near long enough).  Yours look like they would be both beautiful and functional.  Fabulous!
