Hey Everyone! I just finished a pastel piece and I thought I would post it here. Yes, the kitty's name is Mr. Fancypants! I love the name! It's 8x10 on Velour paper. I'm really proud of it! It's been a while since I've been commissioned to draw a kitty! I also started a blog and I posted a tutorial in there with some pastel tips. http://ericavojnich.blogspot.com/2010/04/mr-fancypants-portrait-with-tutorial.html Comments and Questions are always appreciated!  Kiss

Wow!  That's amazing.  Looking at the thumbnail, I thought it was a portrait.  Very nicely done!

Thank you so much sheriffkarli! I really try to aim for the depth, thankfully he was a grey cat. Solid black or solid white animals really are harder to draw for me.

What a beautiful piece! I have been drawing and painting animals for years now in watercolors, oils, and colored pencils. I tried pastel once and absolutely FAILED..your work has inspired me to try again. Thanks for the tutorial...thanks for the inspiration!  Grin

Thanks Tootie22! I'm glad I inspired you! I hoped the tutorial helped, it's hard explaining how it actually gets somewhere.
