5 things i like about Australia:

1. everyone is really laid back
2. glorious amounts of sun in spring/summer
3. very multicultural
4. great local punk scene & music
5. beer

5 things i dont like about Australia:

1. alot of people can be racist or insensitive to other people's cultures
2. alot of guys act way too macho/bogan
3. there are alot of fashion followers, so alot of people - espesh teens - look the damn same!
4. alot of men think they are still above women, so maybe a little stuck in "the times"  in that department??
5. can be boring when theres nothing to do in summer sometimes... surfing is NOT my thing  Tongue

5 Things I Like about Canada
1) People here are generally very friendly and generous
2) Pretty multicultural
3) Scenic
4) How every small town has a "giant" themed item in it...in my town we have the largest turtle statue in Canada Smiley and it talks  Cool

5 Things I Don't Like About Canada
1) Are highways are a joke "there are 5 seasons in canada: spring, summer, highways construction, fall, & winter"
2) The crazy weather that we get..like right now it is 7 degrees outside and it's august
3) Our looonnnngggg cold winters Sad which is in part of #2..I don't like winter and have SAD
4) This one is craft related...there is hardly any craft supplies that you can find in Manitoba..it seems that EVERYTHING is in Ontario..grr! (*nothing against Ontariuns, just that I am jealous of the things that you can find
in and around the cities.
5) Higher cost of living

I love turtles and would love to see a giant talking one!  I'm going to have to come to your town sometime!   Wink

Last month, when I was in the Florida Keys getting things for Psyche, a huge loggerhead turtle kept surfacing by our boat.  It was beautiful. Smiley

Okay, here's my lists.

5 Things I Like About Canada, But More Specifically My area of southern Ontario
1) There's everything here. And if you drive an hour in any direction, you get even more.
2) The 'country' is never too far of a drive either.
3) Lots of different cultures, and they are mostly living in harmony too.
4) We get 4 distinct seasons, and the taking a drive to see the autumn colours is especially beautiful.
Within the entire country:
5) There are so many different regions with different ways of living, and different beautiful things to see (including, but not limited to, the Rocky Mountains and Niagara Falls!)

5 Things I Don't Like About Canada, But More Specifically my area of southern Ontario
1) The traffic. Ugh! Toronto is techically a 45-minute drive from me, but lately I never can get there in under an hour, and usually hit the hour and a half mark. Or more.
2) The urban sprawl is terrifying. I'm afraid that the 'country' I spoke of in the likes #2 will be gobbled up soon. (Luckily some is protected by farms!)
3) The winters. Not as long as the Manitoba winters of autumnkisses, but still pretty deadly. And long.
4) The cottage traffic! It's impossible to drive 'up North' (AKA anywhere an hour or more past Toronto, to Southern Ontario folks) during nice weekends without getting ensnared in the huge amount of cottagers moving towards Muskoka or other prime cottaging destinations.
5) The lack of national pride. Very little flag waving here. It often gets pretty apathetic, to tell you the truth.
