Socks and soles

I made a bunch of socks recently, and a pair of knitted insoles for hiking boots.

 
The soles were made as one large piece that I felted in the washer before cutting them out slightly larger than my feet.¨

My new favourite socks!

They were knit toe up from some grey wool and two skeins of Drops Delight. I just went on til I ran out of the rainbow yarn, then added the grey ribbing.
They work great both with hiking boots

and with white sneakers


Then we have my insane socks..

They pooled and spiralled like crazy. The brightly coloured sock yarn is striped with black wool to keep the pooling at bay. I made an afterthought heel and there is no ribbing. I had to redo the bind-off on the first one because I made it too tight.

I also started these:

I guess you could call them sampler sock. I borrowed a pattern here and another one there, and tried to use up some more wool scraps.

I love all of them ...but the third pair, the ones you are still working on, are my favorite!!!!

Wow!  You rock, and so do those socks!  A friend at work has maybe 8 half pairs of socks in progress - she finishes one sock, then gets tired of the yarn, so she starts another pair -- I'm going to make her look at your post!

Do you really like Drops Delight for socks? I think it's far too thin, but I love the yarn. Have made both shawl and baby clothing from it.

Funny how just the mentioning of Drops Delight made me look if you were from Sweden

ewushka: I think I like it, but I have yet to see how well they take wear and tear. The yarn IS thinner than I usually like my socks. Hopefully the sturdier yarn in the heel and toe will keep them from getting holes.

Mannon2: I tend to do that with mittens sometimes... it's the %/&&/ thumbs

I'm making a cardigan from Drops Delight at the moment, and I had to sturdy it up with Järbo 1-thread.
But I very much like working with it. It's easy running.
For sock I think I'll stick to sturdier yarns though, but I could make the shaft in Drops Delight The shafts are great looking

I really like the rainbow ones.  The plain grey at the top and bottom was a good choice.
