Found Object Printing - Cassette Tape Shirts

As hinted in the title these shirts were made by printing directly from old cassette tapes. I used a foam brush to paint directly onto the tapes, then pressed them onto the shirts. I used scrap paper inside the shirt and printed onto a soft surface to allow for the rased area on the tape to print properly. They are really old school and awesome.

that's a great idea, whoever thought of it first.  it might also be pretty cool to print upside down (cassette paint-side up and press cloth down onto it) with small pieces of denim or other woven cloth, to use for appliques.  i am crazy for appliques right now, that's why i thought of that.  plus i am sure i wouldn't know if the print really got made right if i was "stamping" paint-side down.

That's a great idea for "other" image reproduction techniques! I may snag your idea, since I love how cassette tapes look on shirts. Hm. Though I may snag it to do something else!

I LOVE this!  Might have to try it very soon, I have so many old cassettes it would be kind of cool to use them for something other than just taking up space in a bin in my closet  Love the way it looks, off to check out that link!
