new stuff! I found this dress of mine (circa mid-nineties)-

although a little odd -the sleeveless top portion of the dress is made of fleece -does that make any sense?

and I thought it really had some potential. I just loved the print- for a kid's dress there was a surprising amount of fabric. I replaced the cheap gem with a cute owl bead that I've had in a box for quite awhile.

so it became this:

and this:

I'm thrilled! What do you think?
thanks for looking Smiley

I love what you did with the lace motif. Did you have to back it with interfacing or something?

Thank you! I'm so pleased, too. I saw something similar in a shop but so out of my price range.

I could have used interfacing because it was a bit flexible. It just needed a spray to stiffen it up so it would lay flat. It was embroidered into the fleece so, I cut right into it without worrying about fraying.

Hah!  Nice save!  And I agree with the earlier posts, the lace necklace is a very clever idea.

This is a great save!  What did you replace the jewel with on the necklace?

Eco-friendly items, patterns, hippies, and more.

I'm on Ravelry, too!
