It is easy to underestimate the work involved with embroidery, especially with fill-stitch pieces.  I've learned that lesson the hard way myself too.
You have done a beautiful job with so much rich texture.  I love how you used so many different fill stitches.

This is so so beautiful!! Your stitches are so neat, I can't believe how many different ones you've used.  No wonder it was very time consuming lol! Your partner must be so chuffed with this, I would be!!

She's lovely!  I'm sure your swap partner very pleased with it.  Did you have a guide for it, or did you just have a reference picture?

i took this coloring page and used a water-soluble pen to trace it on the top material, then i just started embroidering. i obviously changed some of the details as i went along, but overall, it still matches pretty well.

All those textures certainly bring the piece to life. I can only imagine how wonderful this looks in real life. Beautiful!

Absolutely breathtaking! Ill have to start keeping an eye out for images, I cant believe you got such a beauty from a COLOURING PAGE! I think I saw some pagan child pdf's, thanks for the inspiration, as I too keep finding gorgeous things that are a bit too much for my skill level. You did an amazing, intricate job, from what could've been so simple....lovely.
