i'm the kind of crocheter who prefers small, quick projects, so when i got the brilliant idea to make an afghan for a bridal shower gift, i must have been out of my mind. nevertheless, i persevered and managed to finish just in time. (as in 2am last night and the shower is today.) i used the lion brand domestic bliss afghan pattern (i thought the name was fitting) and homespun, so it's nice and warm and fluffy. and big! it's about 60" wide, not sure how long exactly, but i'm 5'8" and holding it above my head in the picture, with my toes peaking out, so it's pretty long. and i had a heck of a time keeping my cat away. every time i left the room, even for a minute, she would sneak her way underneath, often knocking my hook out and making me loose a few stitches in the process. so here it is, and now i have to go wrap it.

c&c welcome!

Love the color combination.  Looks very cozy for a newlywed couple to snuggle under.

Beautiful job!  You would never know it's your first afghan.  I think I recently printed out that pattern.  Nice to see it comes out so great!  Smiley
