I got inspiration from several places.
http://www.kcquilts.com/blog/2007/03/tutorial-super-cape.html
http://www.supercapes.com/capes/for_kids.html

The second site said they used magnets for the 'ties' at the neckline and I thought that was an awesome idea. I used magnets as well. They were a bit heavy, but hold up well under the fabric + interfacing.
He should love it, he wore a bee costume for 2 whole days several weeks ago.

I love it! magnets are a great idea my two year old nephew will only wear a cape if he doesn't know its there....this way we could sneak it back on after he's pulled it off! Genius!!

That's adorable. I like the monogram. My little sister put on a fancy disney princess type dress upon waking every day for about 6 months. I can't wait until my friend's kid is a little bigger, and I can make her a whole box of dress up clothes!

Awesome idea!! My 2 1/2 yo boy and 4 yo boy would love this! You've inspired me to make my two little superheroes their own capes!

Yes, little kids can be like that. When my little brother was preschool age, he wore a dog costume every day for months. We still tease him about it & he's in his 20s now.

Personal swaps? I would love beautiful/useful polymer clay items, fashion accessories, anything oriental or oceanic, or jewelry? PM me if I can make something for you! Custom glass etchings, beaded jewelry, collage artwork, winter hat/scarfs, write-on calendars, custom name boards, cookies-in-a-jar

Love the magnet idea!  I assume that would make it safer as well.

Yeah, he's such a little guy and since he might wear it to bed, I figured it would be safer. Plus such a super easy way to put it on and take it off, he doesn't have to tie anything.
