My fianc started to understand a bit more when he got some stuff from a OWS swap. But it was great to see when he really, really got it. I joined a swap he was interested in and he created half the package. He thought it was really neat to get an entire package but the reaction when our partner recieved and loved everything was priceless. I think he gets it now, but he still teases me about it and  refuses to join craftsrer Wink

He will probably think I've gone even more mad, he already thinks art/craft stuff will completely invade the house if he isn't constantly vigilant!

haha.  i craft on the dining table...we eat at the coffee table.  There is always some beads or paper or my sewing machine on there. I make an effort and pack it all away if someone is coming over (inlaws) but if we get surprise visitors they get to see it in all its glory.

I just received packages for 2 swaps yesterday, one of them was the onesies swap, and I showed hubby the shirts when he got home.  He thinks it's great that no one else will be wearing a top that has the same things on it.  I think if I stick to swaps for practical things, the other one I received was a crocheted hat for my daughter, and a washcloth, then he wont feel that I am just swapping for things that will take over the house.  Cheesy

I've got the end of the garage for my art/craft stuff, but it does rather look like a slow motion explosion at the moment! My sewing machine and trolley lives in the corner of the lounge. I sewed a cunning full length cover for the whole thing, but I think hubby still knows it's there even in its neutral furnishing fabric disguise.

carmenmarie, pm me if you're interested in a surprise parcel of supplies, I really need to destash. I wanted to join one of the other destash swaps, but it seemed really impractical to ship supplies overseas.

I am new and have been checking out the swaps in anticipation of doing one some day.  I told my husband about swapping last night and he totally doesn't get it (but I'm not going to be discouraged!)

Hehe, the only ones who get it are my kids. The first swaps I did were Children's Wishlist swaps, so each package was theirs. There were tears when the first package came that was for me! Grin And they were so into the Roaming Gnome swap!
I don't even mention swapping to most people.
My best friend is super competitive, and she is a bit jealous, not of the packages I get, but of those I make Grin "Well, I don't have time for making things like that *pout*". I get this a lot when it comes to crafting, many people feel left behind.
And the other best used to tolerate it patiently but recently tries to steal cute things, and pouts for being left out, so I find myself making something extra just to feed that new craft appreciation Grin

I think some of my friends think it's wierd but they get it, you get and recieve, so it's always a surprise.  My hubby is really into it.  He will ask if there are any good swaps going on, and sometimes he will even craft for one that really peaks his interest.  It's fun for us getting something in return.  He even felt really bad for me recently when I got flaked on.
