Eeeeei. First post!

I made this bag for a friend. It is denim with t-shirt/ jersey material lining.

The patch is from a retro drawing which was then iron transferred onto white felt.

I was happily surprised with the quality of the iron-transfer, I usually LOATHE iron transfers, but it turned out ok on the felt (I don't even mind the melty, plastic-y feeling of the image)

It's a modest contribution but small steps!

Le Purse! J'adore denim.

Le Lining! Hail Hail Stripes!

Le Patch! Because reading is great and doesn't cause infertility or insanity in women like medieval surgeon general warnings had you believe!

Thanks muchly for the kindness!

I actually made the patch myself. I scanned the drawing I had from this old book of clipart I swiped years ago from my highschool newspaper editor days.

I scanned the image onto my laptop and printed it out onto iron-transfer paper for t-shirts or fabrics. I ironed it  on to a piece of stiff felt and sewed it onto the bag.

I usually don't like iron-on transfer images because they can look cheap on more matte fabric. It seems to look fine on white felt because it is more porous. Plus the drawing was black and white, so it looks more like it has been screen printed (I am saving up for my own Gocco printer as we speak!)

Hope that helps!
