And Dizzer, I don't remember it taking all that much yarn!
(but my memory is going, so better check with the others on amt you need....)

I officially cast on today before dinner. I was very careful and double counted my stitches to make sure I have the right number.
The I Love this cotton is very soft. It moves well which is nice. I'm slightly concerened it might be splitty but we'll see.

Dizzer- I was surprised that they had "enough" myself. I'll keep you posted on amounts though. All the other colors there were way less of so I'm happy the blue I picked worked.

Ooooh I'm so down for this! I've made one of these and wasn't happy with the yarn I'd used, so I've been meaning to make another.

I learned to knit last year using this girl's videos:
http://www.youtube.com/user/elsteffo

and also the Teach Yourself Visually how to Knit book that I rented from the public library system!
The book:
http://www.amazon.com/Teach-Yourself-Visually-Knitting-ebook/dp/B002SDGLXM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1272040928&sr=8-6

It's really easy and highly addictive! I was so intimidated at first, and a lot of videos went too fast for me, but her vids help a lot. There are loads more tutorial videos on youtube and http://www.knittinghelp.com so go for it Wink

I just bought a whole bunch of beige/yellow yarn today... it was on sale! I may have to use that if I have enough, I'll have to check!
