Hi!

I made this cake for my boyfriend's birthday last week. It was super easy and I got the instructions from the Betty Crocker site; http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/rex-the-dinosaur-cake/3134d1ed-d6a5-4cd9-9689-44868901548a

I don't have any proper icing tools so it's not a very smooth finish. Also I didn't keep any plain white frosting to make the teeth so I used some tiny candy hearts from a previous cupcake project.

And speaking of cupcakes, here are the ones I made for Easter;

Thanks for looking  Smiley

I never ice a cake smoothly. Besides, dinosaurs were scaly and bumpy anyway. My DH is so getting this cake for his b-day in 2 weeks!

That has got to be the best cake ever!  I love it!  And I love that you used the candy hearts instead of frosting, not only resourceful, but in my opinion, BETTER!   Smiley

I think that is the yummiest looking dinosaur I have ever seen.

Great job.

I love this!  My daughter's daycare was "studying" dinosaur's all week and when I saw your post I had to make it for them.

I used box cake, of which I'll never do again, tastes aweful.  But they eat dirt, so really no biggy for them.  I used left over rolled buttercream and had purple and green melties and chocolate chips at home.

thanks for the inspiration!
