Monthly Odd Holiday - May

I am so in love with my art    I really love it on the blue wall, and I do actually plan on painting the walls soon, but it's going to go with the next color equally well! 

I should tell you, I was giggling and awwing over the pickle kit and my husband thought it was a really great idea also, but when I pulled out the paintings I was speechless and was literally tearing DH's attention from Battlefield to "Look!!!!  Can you see it?!  It's a tree..." and then he pointed out that I had one canvas upside down so I fixed it and then continued with the ooing and aaaahing.  Then I walked around my house for about 15 minutes before deciding where to put it.  It was kind of awkard to find a place, but I love it's new home.  I now want something similar cascading down the other side of the book case

When I first started the painting it was actually nearly the same color as your wall...or at least that's the color I was trying for. I couldn't get the mix of paints quite right with the gold so I painted over it with the green.

It was inspired by a painting I saw on your wists but I didn't see it there last time I looked so I can't share the link to the original . It looked similar to these...http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=343403.0. Murbeck, maybe you remember the source?

   I received from Sejimara!  Unfortunately, I have great difficulty posting photos to Craftster, so, fortunately, Sejimara has agreed to.  However, I wanted to post a list of the items I received.  Here goes:

1)  For BUTTON DAY-An AWESOME embroidery hoop (which was colored ORANGE-thanks Sejimara!), which framed some interesting paisley/flower print fabric that Sejimara embellished with some different style/color buttons and sewed onto the fabric itself, which added even more interest.  It's hanging right above my computer!

2)  For EAT WHAT YOU WANT DAY-A peach colored set of magnets that had different line drawings of food/drinks/desserts on them!  They are now decorating my metal filing cabinet at school.

3  For NATIONAL SMILE DAY-A lime green tote bag with a series of four, very silly, smiley faces in a row on it.  It's holding one of my sewing projects right now.  Thanks!

Thank you so much Sejimara...hubby forgot to take your package to the post office today...it will be going out tomorrow!

Not sure, I am currently in a Wall Art Swap so I had spent hours going through etsy wisting art, so it would be impossible to narrow back down, but I do so love that style in particular.  And, I've totally been eye those paintings by sheepblue too    But I love even more that what I got from you is so original!!!!

Liz asked what my "style" was - I think I said mid-century modern so the fabric is perfect.
There are chickens appliqued on both bags.

And an extra for my May birthday - a felt strawberry shortcake with whipped cream! Liz says she never made one before but the detail is exquisite!

I love that chicken!! How did you make that, Superstitch? Did you knit it?

I really like the blue and yellow fabric. I actually had that fabric but swapped it in the yard of fabric swap a couple months back. Dang...now I'm wishing I had hung on to it!! Great bag and perfect for hauling around books (or your Kindle).

Oh yay I'm so glad you liked everything, I ALMOST asked if you had a kindle be cause I just got a nook and made a case for mine! I should have asked!

i could never decide on eyes for the chicken so i left him inanimate, i almost made him zombie chicken but i didn't feel like that would be respecting the chicken!
