I formed it by hand, from copper sheet, after drawing the Poppy with Sharpie. The balls are made from scraps of copper leftover from cutting out the flower, heated with the torch till they ball up. It's the biggest thing I ever heated up, ( you heat it up to soften the metal, annealing it, so it's not too brittle or hard to bend...) and it was really warm working with it! Fun though!

It reminds me of the trips my family and I would take to the poppy fields when I was growing up. It's about 30 minutes from my house and they only really show up if the weather has been just right. I haven't driven out there this year, but we can see the bright orange glow from the freeway.  Smiley
