Random Acts of Kindness/Positive Thoughts Craftalong

Whew, long enough name?

I have been thinking about this craftalong for awhile. There is SO MUCH negativity out there, even sometimes on Craftster which is in general a very positive place. But I think that all of us struggle with dwelling on negativity or getting into ruts where we're grumpy or allow the little things to bring us down.

So here is a place to let go of your problems and think of and share ways to bring happiness to yourself and uplift others. My good friend kittykill is my inspiration for this, she is the most positive person I know and is always sharing links to adorable websites and cheerful sayings and craft projects, as well as giving encouraging words and good advice.

A few guidelines:

--Please post links to cheerful projects/ideas/sayings. Also post your crafts that you may be sending out into the world to cheer a friend or random acts you may be doing.

--Please don't post your problems here, we want to keep this a cheery thread. If you're having a bad day and would like some cheering up, that's cool to post, but please no sad/upsetting/grumpy details.

--Remember to keep it crafty, but it would also be cool to post links to blogs or articles about people that are helping the world/doing amazing things/have fun ideas.

Some ideas:

--Making/sending cards randomly to former swap partners/friends anytime or when you specifically know they are having a hard time. Either signed or anonymously.

--Giving love to someone publicly, either by just posting about how you admire something about someone in this thread, starting a new thread in the FOC off-topic section, adding to the "Craftster Crushes" thread, or even putting something in your signature!

Please add your ideas!

Ok peeps, lets go out into the world (real and on-line) and dive bomb people with crafty love and happy thoughts!

This is such a wonderful idea. Everyone needs a little pick-me-up every now and again!

I'll have to think what I can do first! Smiley

I am going to be following this eagerly.
My latest project for myself is a "gratitude project", to be more aware of things I take for granted.
I also want to really start living, not just working, and am planning to travel a lot more.
I try to see the positive in any situation  Grin
I will be staying tuned,

It is a great idea. I liked the link to the blog, where Kattie gave chalk to the kids and tennisballs to the dogs. Maybee we could do something like that? Crafty?

You are so right, Scrappy Sue - to be aware of the beauty in the world, even if you are just doing the dishes, and to live now instead of later.
Maybee the following can count as a bit of encouraging wisdom - it is supposed to be a bit of an old zen poem

"Magical Power, marvelous action!
Chopping wood, carrying water"
