Made this quilt from here because the hubby and I needed a new lighter summer quilt for our bed so we dont' have to turn down the AC so much at night. I picked the colors because I was inspired by a set of fabric that Elizabeth had put on her blog. Beautiful citrus and lime summer colors. She ended up using them for another quilt, but I took the idea and made a quilt based around one of my favorite Alexander Henry prints. You know, the one with lemons on it. I don't actually know the name of it, now that I think about it.


The quilt front:

Another shot of the back. My hubby is a great photographer.

I stipled the quilt, which was the first time I had done this on a quilt of this size. The quilt is just under king sized.

And a shot of the pillow cases I made for our throw pillows to match the new quilt. I made them off of this tutorial. I loved making them just as pillow cases because you can't tell from the front, but I didn't have to buy new pillow forms since I just slipped them over the pillows and left the old case on. And when I change out the quilts when winter comes, I can just slip them off and have the "old" pillows back! Score!

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.

Awesome!!  I am so excited to be able to get back to quilting soon! 
I really wanted to make something for my room this year - you are a great inspiration - your set is just fantastic - and extra bonus on husbandly imput.  Mine would just say "no pink"
