Luckily, Allstate has donated about 300 highlighter pens and 300 chip clips to my student organization. We are going to hand them out as prizes for a game we will have at Relay for Life. However, I don't think we will hand them all out, and it would be nice if they weren't all exactly the same.

I'm looking for ideas on alternative uses, ways to make them prettier, etc.

Pens look like these (except they are white and say Allstate)

Clips look like these(except they are all blue, and don't have the rubber grip part, and say Allstate, and have a magnet on the back)

Ideas are greatly appreciated.

You could get those Avery brand stickers you put in your printer and make new labels to stick on them, like your group name.
Or tie ribbons on them in your group's colors.

i've never done this before, but could you decoupage onto of the clips? you know, with scrapbook paper and/or fabric?

I am very sorry to anyone wishing to look at the pictures that I have previously posted. Photobucket deleted my account without warning.  :/

Depending on the type of pen, you can add polymer clay to them. It may be more work than you want to do for 300 of them, but adding a rainbow of colors could be very pretty! (I found an example of one at: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=302868.0)
