I used acrylic paints.  After I started painting them I thought "hmm, I should have sanded these a bit first- oh well too late".  I'm put a light coat of varnish over them to hopefully preserve them until I can get the resin poured and them I'm assuming the resin will safely secure everything in place. 

I'm considering adding something to the resin when I pour... glitter, or their names, or some other little trinkets (like another little black bird in Mom-In-Laws...)  What do you guys think?

thats so beautiful. can you show us your inspiration? i have never heard of spoon pendants. i can imagine a really awesome wind chime made out of a bunch of these pendents!
