I found something similar to this on ravelry ages ago..
http://www.ravelry.com/projects/roko/p91-crochet-bag

Which was my original inspiration to make this bag, for a swap (it's on the second page, second to last post)

Thanks for the ravelry link, love that bag, very pretty.

Thanks, she was 7lbs 14oz on Thursday, still so tiny (poor thing can't hold up a pair of pants)!
I was thinking the houndstooth thing too!

She is not that tiny, my son was born at 7.5lbs, but by the 3rd, he was still less than 8lbs.

BTW, just finished Row 29, and I decided to add 8 more rows.

Pssh I got you all beat, my son was 4 lbs 4.5 ounces. He was born at 37 weeks, he was a big baby, but lost weight dramatically when my placenta stopped feeding him:P Good thing I went into natural labor so early!

Haven't worked on this since the last picture I posted. I'm kinda not digging the colors.

Finish the main piece, still can't decide that do I want to add lining or not.  if added lining, should I sew it now, or wait until the purse done.

My son lost a pound in the first week.  It was scary.  Now he is almost 4 mths, and 13lbs.

I got one side of the border, or whatever it's called on the pattern, done... I would've done the other side but I kept forgetting to take a pair of scissors back downstairs with me so I never did, haha.  I will be back at it today and snap another picture when I get the other side done.  I like how quickly it's moving along...

She was 7.5 at birth too, then she lost 6oz or so (there were some issues which landed her in the NICU), but she's doing great gaining now, so yay!  My son (he's 4.5yrs now) was right at 7lbs at birth... I thought they both were going to be well over 8+lbs because of how huge and uncomfortable I was... I can't imagine having a baby who was any bigger!

That's so scary DSR!  Glad everything worked out for you guys!  Placentas can be so troublesome sometimes...

Almost done!  Just 2 more rows for the handles... (I'm not doing the flowers)
Though I'm not entirely sure my handles are done exactly like the pattern says... I've noticed a few little discrepencies (mostly wording wise) in the pattern and if things seem odd in my head when I am reading the pattern I just work it out my own way...
It is super tiny though... so I think I will be making another in a bigger version.

Thanks!
Gotta do something with my hands while the baby breastfeeds... and boy does she like to eat... a lot!  Cheesy
Before I started this project I was playing Solitaire on my iPhone while she ate... this is far more productive!
