Just a comment from a random passerby...  Here are two good (albeit mildly sexist) ways to remember which way a garment buttons:

"Women are always right, and men are just left over."  (Meaning that men's garments button left over right.)  <---Sorry boys, but this is usually said in a costume shop full of women.

Second way to remember is this silly story:  A friend of mine had studied with Freddy Wittop at the University of Georgia.  Mr. Wittop was a Tony winning costume designer, best known for having designed the original production of Hello, Dolly!   When she mentioned to him that she could never remember which way things buttoned, he said "Well Nicole, I'll tell you how.  Let's pretend we're on a date!  I'm driving, because I'm the boy, and you're the passenger, because you're the girl.  Your shirt buttons right over left, so that when I reach over at a red light, I can slide my hand straight into your shirt!"

thatbluesea, your waistcoat is beautiful!  Nicely done!

Thanks, Jennie! I will NEVER forget the buttoning rules again! Cheesy (Of course instead of miming buttoning, I now have a little mental movie to play, but it's more fun!)

I was checking the mail table after lunch on Friday and saw a package with my name on it from someone I didn't immediately recognize. I tried to figure out who it was for the longest time, and I finally realized that I received my package! It was awesome. I couldn't take picture while my campers were in rest time (cause we can't take pictures in the cabin, for safety-sake and such) But I got some cool folded flowers, Burning Man paraphanaelia (something I've been interested in for a long time. I'll definately be reading the booklet soon), a post card that says "No mail days are sad days" with 50s looking advertisements on it-SOOO funny!! and then lastly a great vest. There's some courderoy and other textures that I love!! I'll try to soon take pictures and post some pictures by next weekend!!

Thanks so much, Lady.love!! Great swapping with you!! I'm glad you enjoyed your capelet. The image just kinda came to me, and I went with it, and it turned out (mostly) how I was thinking, so a success in my books.

And yet more on the buttoning issue, I've realized that Jennie's memorable grabby-date-in-the-car story doesn't work in the UK or other places that drive on the left.
