Appliqued, Embroiderd and Embellished Pirate Ship Wall Art

I created this art work for a swap partner and had so much fun making it.  I first stitched two fabrics together, 1 for the night sky and 1 for the ocean sea.  Next using enlarged templates from the book Button and Stitch I chose my fabrics and using heat and bond ironed it on my fabrics and cut out all the sails and boat. After positioning them on the fabric they where ironed in place and using my sewing machine appliqued on with a zigzag stitch.  Next came the fun part. I used choices of embroidery floss to coordinate with all the fabrics and embroidered all the
details.  I added seed beads to the sails, beads for the cargo, bits, bobbles, lace and buttons to make it interesting.  The charms where purchased as a set . I love the parrot.  The water needed some sea creatures so I added charms and glass buttons. Then added beads for air bubbles.  Once I was happy with my embellishing I took I think a  16 X 20 artist canvas and stretched the fabric across it stapling it to the backside of the canvas frame.  Wa la  pirate ship  art work.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces I have seen posted ever. I swear I would lose my mind if I ever got something like this in a swap. Omg like a gypsy wagon piece. Wow that would be so awesome. Great job. This has so been wisted.

Thanks for al the nice comments.  My partner was actually the one who inspired it.  It was made for the crafty detective swap. It was her inspiration through my mind!
