The sewing machine fairy hit me...twice
«

So my faïence’s good friend, lets call him Mike…because that’s his name, is going through a rough patch. He has been staying at our house for a week in my sewing room. I said earlier “Glad to help, miss my creative space.” Well that was Wednesday now it’s Saturday and things are just getting worse. Their marriage is dissolving, their 10 year old is staying at a friends house, it’s a poo pie anyway you slice it. And I feel really bad for Mike, but his wife is nuts. It all started when he came home and she was drunk and started hitting him and he called 911 and she kicked a cop (apparently a felony offense).
Anyway, Mike came home last night and said that he and Nancy are probably going to get a divorce and file bankruptcy so that she can afford a lawyer in her felony trial. Then he says “Oh and we have had these in our garage for years and no one uses them. I thought you might want them.
and
Holy good karma! I whipped my $79 Kenmore off that sewing table and plugged in the Singer. Then I spent half an hour trying to find a bobbin casing that fit (note: doesn’t take one) works like a dream. Hums. It’s all metal parts in mint condition. Even has the original owner’s manual.
I haven’t plugged in the Necci yet (I have never heard of that brand but I hope to do some research today. It feels almost sinful to be so excited about something I got because a family is being destroyed…But I am really excited. I learned to sew on an old avocado green Singer. I would love a new sewing machine but we just bought a house and I’m getting married in June. Then the sewing machine fairy hit me with not one but two.
I’m going to have to think long and hard about how to pay this one forward.

Holy awesome poop balls! (<--just coined) Wowzers, free sewers! Maybe you could decide which one you like best and then give the other as a good karma bonus? To a friend who needs one or wants to learn? Happy day for you!

Love and gratitude for you being there for him in a really bad time made manifest.
You are not getting these gifts because of his bad situation, you are getting these gifts because he appreciates your kindness and compassion toward him--which are priceless, of course, but which he, out of his own kindness, wished to repay.
The things you sew on this will be loaded with good karma, I reckon!

There's an even better idea for how to pay it forward!

That is what I call fairy kissed. When you are there for somebody in their time of need and you do so without hesitation a fairy will come and give you a special gift.
They are beautiful sewing machines. That Necchi is just stunning.
I hope your friend Mike is ok. My heart goes out to him.

Since my girls actually nap (knock on wood), I am going to start trying to work off my negative feedback. Life got hectic with their early arrival. I apologize for the inconveniences my flaking caused.
