I'm really happy you are interested in Russian cuisine! Smiley I want to tell you the recipe of one classic dish.

"Beef stroganoff" is one of the most famous dishes of Russian cuisine, this is very tasty and very simple to cook. It was invent in XIX century for earl Stroganoff and does not lose its popularity. There are many variants of this dish, this one is my favorite: my mom cooks this way.

You need:
Beef – 400gr (I buy already cut)
Onion – 1piece (if you want, I don’t add it)
Sour cream – 300gr
Oil
Salt, pepper, spices you like (I use dried dill, parsley, garlic and oregano)

Cut the beef to long thin strips across fibers. Roast it with the small amount of oil (if you use onion, add it) – about 15 minutes, it have to become grey inside and outside.

Add sour cream, salt, pepper and spices, mix it.

Reduce heat and cook it 15 minutes more.

That’s all! The best garnishes are rice, buckwheat, fried potatoes with tomatoes or pasta. Enjoy! Smiley

Ooh, this looks really good!  I've never had proper beef stroganoff before, just the nasty stuff that comes in a box.  Fresh and home-made looks ever so much better, I can't wait to try this!  Thanks for posting this (and your other recipe, too...yum!  keep posting please! Cheesy ).

It really looks delicious! The third pic with the sourcream and spices poured over the fried beef really got me hungry. I know, it is not finished there but I can't stop my stomach from roaring when seeing that pic Smiley

Really cute pics and nice tutorial, great work!
