I think I've decided on what to make for package 3 as my first two ideas would have sent me waaay beyond budget. I'm a bit scared with what I've decided on since I've never made one before and it's kind of technical, but there are a ton of great tutorials out there to help me along! Now to finish the little things for package 2 and wait for payday to send it off in the mail and buy the things I need to start on package 3! Wheeee!

Hm, there's more yellow on it than I intended, but I think I like it...

Can I just say I hate my button hole setting on my machine? Hate it.  Never been able to make a perfect button hole, and last night was no different.  But I'm not ripping that *insert appropriate curse word here* out and trying again.... It's functional.  Looks okay from the front.  Not often anyone will see the back anyway....
With that off my chest, I'm done package 2!  (okay so I have a button to sew...)  I might make one more thing, but I'm not sure.... might save it as an extra for package 3, considering I've filled pacakge 2 requirements and then some.  Will be sending out on Monday!

Sorry you're having machine troubles, too!  Sad  They're finicky creatures, aren't they?

Still crafting along. I got a few things done last week. Hoping this coming week will be as productive.  Smiley

AHA! Another item finished! I'm on a roll today. Too bad I'm neglecting my 3 year old. Meh, he'll get over it.

Just got back from a Nancy Zieman/Babylock "Love to Sew" retreat.  Was fantastic.  I only managed to come home with 3 cool items we made and a huge bag of goodies (they had a pretty big Nancy's Notions set up in there).  And the really good part is that I didn't come home with a new machine.
Buttonholes- most computerized machines make terrible buttonholes IMO.  My old mechanical White which I donated to someone made gorgeous buttonholes.  It's the only thing my computerized Elna does not do well, and neither does my Brother sewing/embroidery machine.  I'd use my old Singer 403 if I only had the correct throat plate for the buttonhole attachment thingy.
Box 2 about ready to post.

I have a 10 year old Singer.  No computerization on that one.... it sews straight well enough, but sooooo tricky if I want to do any other stitch.  Good thing a straight stich is all I need for package 3!

I would so take it out in a field and smash it to bits. IF I  could rightfully justify spending 800$ on the machine I want........  LOL

lol! I love the music playing during that scene.

My machine has a problem with button holes (it's not operator error, I can make button holes on other machines, I promise!) It actually does the "down" side correctly but messes up the "up" side. When I remember I just turn the fabric around and use the down side again.

I'm finally done with my sister's wedding shower and all the junk I made for that so now I can get working on Package 3.  This weekend I think I came up with a different idea....so I'm kinda stuck deciding what I should make.

I'm going to mail package 2 tomorrow I think if I can actualy force myself to leave the house.
