I bought this little van from an acquaintence, it had been a regular nissan delivery van, but he converted it to a simple little camper van, installed a stove, tiny sink and storage, the back seat folds flat into a double bed.

He is a nice chappie but has a psycho girlfriend and when I got the van it was grubby, smelly and full of negative energy. I don't have any before pictures, but this is what rosita looks like now. The van is small, this picture is taken from outside!

I covered the foam cushions (which become the mattress) with reversable fabric, so I varied the right side for some interest. And of course since we will be having adventures, I had to make wizard of oz cushions. I painted the little cupboards a lovely retro green and made the front of one of them a blackboard. She looks great now and is all ready (apart from a flat battery!) to be our home for 6 weeks as we drive (with ferries!!) from Ireland to budapest in the summer, we are heading there for a music festival and going to meet with a craftster, veri, for a cup of tea along the way.

since rosita was feeling so much better, she decided she wanted a tattoo,

this is paint was a bugger to work with, it is twopack automotive paint, expensive and great quality, but very viscous and the lines are thick and thin, looks OK from a distance. I have just bought an airbrush on ebay so eventually rosita (the wonder van) will have lots more designs painted on the sides and back. But right now, she is very happy.

Thanks sweetie. If I could only figure out why the (new) battery keeps going flat, I would be happy@!

Very nicely done!  What a fun trip that will be!

Sounds like your alternator is draining the battery! Best have it checked before making a long road trip!!

Love what you did to the cabinets as well...nothing like fresh paint to make things feel new again!

Yay, Rosita! What a sweetie! I hope we'll get lots of on-the-road stories.

And I know from my own frustrating experiences that there are a number of things that can drain your battery like that. (My most recent bout of that turned out to be caused by keeping the GPS plugged in all the time. Even turned off it sucked the battery dry in a couple of days!) Hopefully your local mechanic can find the problem.

I checked to see if the gps or anything else was plugged in, but nada, so will have to check out alternator etc or at least I would if I had the faintest clue how..I will get my mechanic to sort it out.

That looks great! You made Rosita look sweet. Cheesy The music festival and other stuff should be really fun. I'd like to go to one of those. Tongue What music festival is it?
