Fiber Friday April 9th, 2010

I always keep forgetting to post in here, I could have posted this last week.  Oh well.  I made this for the Friends of Craftster Raffle swap.  It is superwash merino from Fiber Optic on Etsy.  It was hard to give away, so squishy and soft.  I never did name it.  I don't know, maybe "shoreline"?  You have earth and water/sky colors in there.  It is about 105 yards.  I love it.

I can finally share pics of the little skien I did, since it went to its new home

Hairball (it was for Hairball awareness day )  it was fun to spin up.. It's Luster wensleydale locks and misc goats fleece.... not 100% sure what kind of goat, but a goat none the less!  theres not much, but it did fill my bobbin, it's just chunky and hairball like!




oh and I love that ball o yarn Myklia! wonder if its coming my way....

Wow! That has to be the best-looking 'hairball' I've ever seen!  So cool!


Here's my offering for the week. It's SSS black/white roving kettle-dyed with Wilton's... 1.7 ounces, about 170 yards and ~17 wpi (on average). Sorry I didn't have a better picture, it looks a little lighter than the actual color. I intend to crochet it into a shawl for a doll that I'm finishing up.

"Frolic" 200 yards superwash merino, navajo ply. Fiber is from Micamynx on etsy.


"Dark Pheasant" 900 yards Falkland, two ply. Fiber from Rogue Adventures on etsy.


"Oasis" 900 yards lace weight Tussah Silk, two ply. Fiber from Corgi Hill Farm on etsy.

I love the yarns this week!  I really love "Oasis" and I'm not usually even a laceweight girl!

Here's mine for the week:  I call it "Plum Pudding."  It's about 100 yards, SSS roving, I oven dyed the roving with Kool-Aid.  I plied it with navy blue sewing thread.  It's my second attempt at spinning on my new wheel.
