Hi everyone. If I am placing this in the wrong spot, please forgive me...My lovely boyfriend has been craving what he is calling "bonbons" but when I do a search for them in shops, recipes, etc...they look nothing like what he is describing! He says that what he had as a kid (10+ years ago) was round like a ball, chocolate on the outside with a powder-like chocolate on the top and the center is a "melt in your mouth goodness" that taste almost peanut butter-ish...Does anyone have any ideas as to what he is talking about??

Bonbons are basically a candy, kind of like a truffle.  Then there's the frozen bonbons, that are kind of like those Ice Cream bite things.  Ice cream enrobed in chocolate.  Good stuff.

Definitely sounds like a peanut butter truffle to me. You can find those at candy shops. You can also make them like Buckeyes, which we make every Xmas. Here's a recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Buckeyes-I/Detail.aspx

Or maybe he wants a cake filling instead? You could do cakepops ala Bakerella but with peanut butter cake. http://www.bakerella.com/

Thank you both very much! I think he may just be mixing up childhood memories...
Everytime I try to show him different truffles or anything that seems similar he says "nope." But, I don't trust his opinion 100% I'm not even sure he would remember how to cook anything since he's started dating me!
