Wow, congratulations on all the hard work... and on the wedding! Your bridesmaids look very happy, with good reason! You chose lovely fabric, too. Kudos! Cheesy

Thanks for sharing. Your perserverance paid off those bags are beautiful. The more I see posts of this bag, the more I want to make one. My daughter's bday is in November & I think I will make this for her (she does a lot of traveling). Thanks also for the links - very helpful. I will start to research now about tips & short cuts & give it a go.

Amazing.  After having just finished my first one this past weekend, I can say I'm sincerely amazed that you finished 4 in 4 weeks.  I had a hunch the second time around would be much easier with this pattern, so I think I will go ahead and make one for a friend.  It's just such an awesome bag.

Adorable prints on these!  SO well made, and I agree those are some lucky bridesmaids Smiley  I just bought some Amy Butler fabric to make one of these, got the pattern on eBay for cheap.  It seems to me that there are TWO versions of the weekender pattern, one is older than the other, and that older one I hear is the harder of the 2 to work with, probably because of shoddy instructions or whathaveyou.  The pictures on the front are different, one is the bag to the side (older one), and the other is the bag in a green and blue print held in the center (new one and the one I bought)  TOTALLY appreciate the tips...I looked over the instructions and it still looks complicated to me, but will be giving it a go in a month or so I hope.

I would totally be one of your bridesmaids! Lucky girls, those bags turned out great. Fun fabric choices! Thanks also for posting the tips. I really want to attempt this bag someday and I've bookmarked your post for future reference.  Grin

Well, I've hit my forehead with a big Homer Simpson "Duh!"

I never thought of looking for tips on a pattern before.  I usually just dive, curse like a sailor, and soldier on through.  The seam binding is a brilliant idea.  I've had this pattern for a while now and it's on my to do list, but I still haven't even cracked it open.  I will for sure be researching the blogs you listed before diving in.  You're brilliant and so are you wonderful bags.  Thanks so much for the tips!!!

That is completely and utterly amazing! It would have taken my 4 weeks to do 1 bag let alone 4 bags! Actually from what I have heard of this pattern it would probably be sitting in my unfinished objects pile! They are beautiful and the last is my favorite. Thanks for showing a picture of them with your gals. Nice to see how big they really are!
