I made the blue pencil skirt to wear at the vintage fair two weeks ago. I felt like I need a few good basics for my summer wardrobe. I added nautical buttons to the waistband for detail. I love all things nautical. The skirt is great shape and very comfortable so I made another one in lilac this week and just changed the detail on it. I have seen so many variations of bows on skirts lately on some of the blogs I read that I had to have one myself.
I also made up a few more tops from some fabric scraps I had from previous projects. They go well with the skirts. Just needs to warm up outside now.

I'll get my husband to take pictures of me wearing them. I'll add them later.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks  Kiss

I adore this skirt!  You did such a great job on it.  I, too, love nautical themes, and was very pleased to learn that it is "in" this season.

Wow, don't know where to start. I love pencil skirts and you did a really great job on both! I especially like the combination of the blue skirt and the flowered red shirt. It looks damn classy.
Guess my next project will be a pencil skirt as well Wink

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. The pattern is New Look 6917 view B. I used the same version for both skirts. I prefer that length to the very long or the shorter version and since it's such a simple shape you can add any detail to it. I'll be making a few more in other colours.
