I wanted to show off the quilt I made my dad for his birthday  Grin . I love bright patchwork but I know he likes a simpler, more elegant and scandinavian look, so here's what I came up with:

It's a pinstriped red linen blend on one side and a navy cotton on the other. I handquilted it with embroidery floss in cream and red.

except for the binding, which is sewn on by machine on one side it's entirely handsewn and since I was short on time I completed it in only 2 and a half days  Shocked. Never want to do that again though  Wink.

I have a little more detailed post about it on my blog: http://tidytipsy.wordpress.com/2010/04/06/scandinavia-quilt/

Thanks for looking  Smiley

Very simple, but yet very pretty! I do love this style, too.
I bet your dad loved it?!

And I love your sewing machine  Wink

It looks very good. And a great idea to handstitch with embroidery tread. I Will try that, once. I hope your Father appreciated it.
