Swap name: Series of Unfortunate Events
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: Tinygoatstacker
Sign-up date range: 5/5/05-5/25/05
Date to send item by: 6/25/05

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): No

Non-U.S. participants allowed? Yes

All ages allowed? All ages, with parent's permission for those under 18.

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:  It's my first time organizing. (Eek!) This swap involves crafts inspired by the Series of Unfortunate Events books and movie. Anything goes- Esme's jewelry, interesting inventions, chew toys for babies, Violet's awesome coat (hint, hint  Wink ) .... I trust everyone to use their best judgement regarding what to send.  One large item (or 2 medium) plus several small items is a nice standard to go by.  I've allowed an entire month for crafting, so we should all be able to come up with awesome stuff!
As usual, please don't start making up your packages until you recieve your partner's info.  It's better that way, I promise.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap:
Craftster username:
Email address:
Your real name:
Mailing address:
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?
Favorite book (if appropriate):
Favorite character:
Various body measurements you wish to include (neck, wrist, waist, etc.):
Favorite colors:
What types of crafts do you do?
What would you like to receive? (doesn't guarantee anything, but will help your partner out):
What would you like to make?
Any allergies?:
Particular dislikes (i.e. colors, characters, items you don't wish to receive):
Anything else you'd like to add:

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

What if we just have one large & one small item? How many are you thinking comprises "several"?

Sure! One large & one small would be fine. It really just depends on the amount of work put into the items.  I'd just hate for someone to put a lot of work into their package & get a half-hearted hair clip (or something) in return.

That's funny!

My mom bought the movie on DVD for me yesterday so I'm excited about seeing it again and hopefully haveing some inspirational ideas! Also, I can't wait for the 12th book even if it's not exactly college level reading. Cheesy It's ok, I'll admit I'm a geek.

Aww, leelee, I feel the same way. Imagine my disappointment when, after finishing book 11, I learned book 12 did not currently exist. Ahhh!!! I just started reading the series a few months ago, and did not know how many books had been written.

Daniel Handler does a lot of stuff with the Mcsweeney's/Believer crew... I've missed out on a bunch of events up in San Francisco, sadly.  But I did get to see him at a Series of Unfortunate Events movie screening last month, and he was hilarious.  The panel (exec. producer, director, movie theater moderator) was SO dull and self-important, and he was just so deadpan and funny and made it totally worthwhile.

Okay, today's the last day for signups. Smiley  I'll try to get partner info out in the wee hours of the morning, otherwise it'll be tommorrow afternoon.
I'm leaving for South Carolina on Thursday night, and won't have internet access til Monday.  If there are problems with partners/matchups, etc. I can work on them then, and extend the sendout date if necessary.
Does anyone have a preference for matchups- like two people send to each other, or send in a chain?

I was so scared you wouldn't like the picture I sent you. Whew, I'm glad you liked everything. My awesome crafting godmother was cleaning out her craft supplies drawer and sent me those embroidery towels (they were originally intended for Christmas, but they're so nice I thought they would be better used year-round). I'm so surprised you got them already, I only sent them on Saturday!
