My goodness you've made a lovely piece!  I just finished a project using a single strand of metallic floss to stitch a chain, too!  Boy was I glad when that part was over w/o major mishap; I hope yours went smoothly, too.

Here's the snail. I find using metallic thread is a nightmare. I use Thread Heaven to try and stop it shredding, but usually end up shouting at it!
