I'm trying to change the color of a box - would you suggest paint with clear contact paper (so the lids don't get stuck, etc.) or paper with contact paper?  As long as the top of the box (a small cardboard one with a separate top) fits and goes on and off easily, I'm happy.

Or what other ideas do you lovely ladies have to change the colors?

Thank you in advance for any and all advice!

Is it a paper mache box? If anything, use the contact paper w/nice print by itself - easy peasy. You could also paint directly on the box - just seal it 1st w/an acrylic sealer (paint sticks better). Also, you could just decoupage nice paper on it - just make sure you leave enough room at the top for the lid, maybe the 1st 3/4" could be painted in a coordinating color then glue nice paper to the rest. I also paint the inside & the bottom to make it look uniform.

Thank you!  No, it's a box that cocoa came in (a hard box).

Thank you for the ideas.  Cheesy
