I got this porch swing for free a few years ago and have gone through 3 cushion sets, the top frame/plastic doohickey broke and the dogs shredded the fabric by the time I got home. I finally gave up and just let it sit outside and the dogs took over it. The old man chiweenie likes to lay down/swing in it. Wierdo. Smiley

My folks came to visit a few weeks ago and we usually do a few projects around the house, besides them spoiling grandkids. This was my moms & I - a new cushion set which can be moved easily indoors and used as floor cushions in the family room, etc. My dad & dh's project - well..they logged some serious REM cycles in the early afternoons. Grin

2 inch foam (22x63 inches), 2 king size pillows, 4 yards fabric, 4 yards velcro, 3 yards bias tape.
Sewed 2 giant pillowcases with bias tape/velcro on the ends
The cushion just wrapped the fabric around, sewed velcro down the center and on the ends.

Next project is re-paint the frame, I'm thinking aqua or yellow.

Amazing! I love your choice of fabric, and I vote spray paint yellow! You have inspired me to revamp my own swing!

That looks great! :)We recently did ours over with Black Upholstery Spray Paint for fabric. It worked great, it covered the old pattern and made it look now again. I do not sew so it was really my only option for recycling the old cushions. It stayed soft and did not get stiff like regular spray paint. The only thing I am worried about is how hot the Black is going to get in the sun Undecided.

Oh, I've never heard of that paint before - that sounds interesting and a good way of extending the cushions life. I'll check it out, though- we have some patio chairs that are a fine plastic/fabric type weave and have been bleaching out for 3 years now.
