Those recipe appliques are a nice touch!  Did you just print onto the fabric?  How does that work?

Thanks!  I did a post on this last year on one of the other boards.

I found an iron on paper at Joann's, tho, that lets you create iron on's that can go on dark fabric.  It's nice because you don't have to applique onto an applique.

I'll have to post pics of my DH modeling the apron, just bc he was such a good sport.   Wink

I received the package for my dad from green fairie, its wonderful
It came in this cotton bag with a native american medicine symbol painted on it (there were 2 other small pouches that can be used for making bath tea)

Pine needles and instructions/story

Paper star with the Cherokee story of how herbs created medicine

Thanks for everything.  I think my dad will really like it all.  I"ll mail it to him this week

I am really impressed with that bag and basket!  Did you do a lot of research for this swap?  Good job!

Thanks!!  I did do a ton of research, even though I've got Native American blood, I don't really do a lot with that culture in the way of art or herbalism.  It's actually got me learning a lot that I'm going to use a bit more!

The basket was HARD, man, I'm ashamed to say how long that little thing took.  Tiny crochet hooks are the bomb, though for doing the knots for that and the dreamcatcher ha.  Really gave me even more respect for the basket ladies here in Charleston as well as the Native American basketmakers.

I don't know if you've opened the bag with the pine needles, but I actually crocheted some needles to hold the pine together.  I'm thinking I'm going to have to think up some amazing craft with that technique lol!

I got an awesome package from cursive_queen, and as soon as the hubby will take a photo of me modeling the big item, then I'll post my loot lol.  I *love* the material she chose, so perfect.
