It seems that each round of dotees gets better and better.

Hey loves. I received today from kmichele_craftyfae. Another monkey! I love him. He even has a little banana. I love that I got three monkeys and they're all totally different. With out further ado, here he is.

Super cute right.

As promised here's my dotee display. I saw a tutorial for this on thread bangers I think. On that home style segment they have, dunno what it's called. Anyway, she used it for post cards and ATCs and that, but I thought it'd be perfect for dotees. The idea is you get a frame and just put ribbon or string across, then use paper clips, or safety pins, or clothes pegs, or whatever to hang things. I thought it'd be perfect for my dotees, but couldn't find a frame. I'm pretty sure this is actually the top of a coffee table that would have had glass or something in the middle. I found it in the garbage the other day and figured it'd be perfect. I used some silver spray paint to make it pretty. Unfortunately I did scrape it up a bit and don't have any more paint. Anyway, here it is.

Oh how cool!  What an awesome display idea!  I really like that they look so contained and framed.

That monkey is super cute, too.

Ha. Ha.  You are already running out of space.  Better make another one before the next round of dotees.

Hi! Here's a better picture of "Crafty Girl", made by Smmarrt:

I tried to get her flying around in the flowering crabapple, but she was flying a little tooo much in the light breeze.

Isn't she sweet?

Now i need a proper display area...  Smiley

I received my final Dotee from MadGypsy today. She combined two of my loves and made a Day of the Dead calvera mermaid.

Here she is in all her glory:

And here's a back view- since the detail continues all the way around:

---------------------------

And here's my collection after this round. I'm going to have to add a third row before the next round, because they're starting to get a little scrunched. And I think I may try using picture wire instead of yarn... picture wire should hold taunt a lot better and give it a cleaner look. Good thing I have to take everything down and patch and what-not when I re-paint the room. Smiley

I'm not particularly fond of Day of the Dead stuff, but combining it with a mermaid is  cleverly done.  Is the body made out of clay?  Great job.
