I'm glad you like your kitty, blu! She was modeled after a face my littlest makes all the time. He's an orange kitty too. Smiley The cork-shaped beads certainly are her paws. Her face is polymer and jewelry wire (for the whiskers). My favorites are the fish beads. They came off of the gaudiest pair of earrings I've ever seen. Those were only half of the fish from one earring!

Banner day - three swap packages to post. But the most important, hee hee, is from AlwaysInMyRoom:

DIY Dotee

And a close-up of her face:

Yes, she is made out of a real paint brush. I love the head scarf and hardware jewelry. Oh, and the duct tape is the perfect accent! Thanks so much Linda!

Hooray hooray!  I got my first dotee today!  This is from blupaisan - and my favorite part is his little beady legs and the branch he's standing on!  Blupaisan - whatever made you think I'd like a bird dotee?  Wink  He's great! Cheesy

(OH!  and I'm just noticing that Smmarrt has posted a dotee while I've been fiddling around here - what a cute idea!!)

Okay- that DIY Dotee might be the cutest thing I've ever seen. Smiley

I do love the bird also though. The legs/branch is really elegant looking.

Great job so far everyone!

I will have to post my sketch to show how the idea evolved! (notice how my notes say: smmarrt (again!) ha ha I did a few before I settled on this one!  Make DIY Chick bring you lots of crafty goodness!

of course, now I need to know what the red cardinal is made of!! bluepaisen sends such interesting things that creep me out in a good way... Smiley

I love how your sketch evolved into something MUCH more feminine. It's really neat to see the progression. More people should post their Dotees next to their sketches. Not me though... I draw stick people with lots of notes. lol. But other people should!

I prefer to call my "sketches"  scribbles! Smiley  I think the wonderful thing about dotees is that you can end up with a totally different thing once you start embellishing, etc.  Also, mistakes can turn something into a better piece! Cheesy

(like I had to shorten the paintbrush to fit the size...so how do I hold the two pieces together?  hee hee duct tape!) of course, it was all part of the plan Wink
