This idea was in Readymade Magazine a couple of years back, i also had a class where it was an assignment.  There are different ways to do it but one is to take a bunch of cardboard and glue it together and from there saw away a shape. It is quite a challenge. But it was fun, and my husband and I got some boss chairs out of it.
