There is most definitely something in the water at work because in my department alone we've had three pregnancies, and countless others on my floor (I am avoiding this water at all costs right now!)

This cake was for the first of three showers we will be planning...the mommy-to-be didn't like girly-girl pink, so I was trying to avoid it as much as I could. I settled on these colors, mostly because they made me think of spring, and were just girly enough to pass her approval Cheesy I also made a 2nd square-shaped cake since we've got quite a few people to feed...that one didn't turn out as well - I had a heck of a time trying to think of how to decorate it!

The sides were terrible looking, so I trimmed it with some wide sheer ribbon, which ended up looking nice. The freehanded "fly lines" were a last minute decision - the cake just looked nekked without something!

Be gentle - it's my first try with making a shaped cake - it went over like gangbusters though!!!

I Love your onesie cake. Did you cut out the shape, or did you get a onesie pan?

We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.

Thanks!  Smiley

@poe poe - I just cut the shape...basically, cut the two bottom corners off of a 9x13 cake, and attach them at the top, for the sleeves.

@PinkChick - thanks!! It was a lot of fun to make!

Well done! I have never tried a shaped cake, but I do make special cakes for my girls' birthdays. Well done!
