Leaving the world more beautiful than I found it.

So these two chairs [one a hand me down, one a thrift find] were in serious need of an update.  I really wanted to unify their already similar styles.  The first thing I did was paint, and that proved the most difficult step.

I have painted furniture before and it never went this bad. I followed my usual steps.  I sanded, I primed, I painted. I chose a rustoleum spray primer and furniture quality spray paint as well.
All went well until the second coat of paint.  It started to react like I had applied stripper.  The paint wrinkled and turned to goo.
I ended up having to sand it ALL down again and buy a brush on version of the paint and repaint completely by hand.

It was worth it! They are lovely.

And before:

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

They are absolutely gorgeous and look so upscale! They look like the chairs I've been seeing recently in the design magazines that cost hundreds of dollars.

I love how the chairs are different and how the paint color and the cushions make them match.

These are great! I am badly in need of more seating in our front room. I am inspired to see what I can find and re-do out there!
