I guess this board is the place for this project (or at least as good as any). I made a magnetic memo board out of a vintage tin tray. The tray is nautical themed, so I decided to use cotton rope to make a hanger and I covered buttons with a white and blue striped ticking to make matching magnets.

I have stacks and stack of these vintage tin trays (all different themes and colors). I was thinking about doing more of them. What do you think?

Thanks all! Some of the tins I have are just plain silver. I thought about doing chalkboard paint in the middle of them and leaving the edge silver. I'll post pics if I end up making more any time soon!
