Awhile back I made a scarf for my dear friend Jason. He is an amazing guy and I wanted to make something for him so I decided on a hand woven scarf.

I chose several natural coloured alpaca fleeces and scoured the fiber. I cleaned and carded the fleeces then spun them up by colour. I spun fiber up to about a worsted weight 2-ply yarn, maybe a little under worsted, then wove it on my Ashford rigid heddle loom

5 alpaca fleeces handspun in their natural colours woven into a lovely plaid.

I'm so pleased with how it turned out!

Wow, you did an amazing job! And it's so awesome you even spun your own yarn. That's starting from scratch. I'm sure Jason loves it.

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.
