Wow... your going to be clean and smelling great (in a few weeks or so right?)! Sad about the coconut... I looovvee coconut!

This might not be the place to ask this? but you said what would you put in swap packages as extras... and Im participating in my first swap (yay!) and I just made some lipbalms for funsies and Im like well how could I possibly use all this balm... Anyways so its okay to send your swap partners extra stuff like this? Even when its totally not related to the swap? (Im doing the friendship bracelet swap) Do you put the soaps in as a surprise or do they know its coming?

BUT!  In the hopes that I may be able to pull it off outside once it's consistently warmer, do you have any advice/links/how to's that I can have a look over? I would greatly appreciate any help.

LOVELY soaps by the way!  I always think it's a cake (an edible one, not a cake of soap  Undecided Grin ) because they are soo pretty!

Thank you! Here are some links we've compiled, scroll down to get to the how-to type links after the supplier links:

And some Craftster tutes, there are tutes for hot process and cold process as well as other goodies:

Yay for your first swap! I'm sure you have heard, but it's addicting!  Cheesy

For larger swaps I almost always include a soap or something, sometimes my partners will hint that they want one, so I am happy to oblige lol! It's almost always ok to include extras, if you are really going over the top with extras you might want to check with your swap partner first, everyone loves extras but some people might feel bad if you send them more than they send you, ya know? I've never felt the need to ask if it's ok to throw in just one lip balm though!  Grin

All of you soap makers out there are inspiring me!  Sadly, I am a 23 yr old (2 weeks away from 24 yr old) that lives in a small house with my parents and adult brother. I fear I do not have enough room for the process.  BUT!  In the hopes that I may be able to pull it off outside once it's consistently warmer, do you have any advice/links/how to's that I can have a look over? I would greatly appreciate any help.

You can do it!  I made soap when I lived in a teeny tiny two bedroom house with my 2 sisters, and my mother.  I didn't have many supplies but I still had a blast.

I'm 23, too!  Admittedly, though, I live in a decent-sized apartment with a very minimalist roommate (I'm not sure how much BF notices if it's not on his computer), so I've got room for my soaps to sprawl.  Still, all you really need is the kitchen to yourself for a few hours, and a cool shelf or closet to cure your first batch.  Go, go, go!  You will have so much fun!

I always put soap or lip balm or lotion in a swap box. It's my "specialty" so I always figure a way to make it work, hehe. Seriously, everyone loves homemade B&B stuff. Smiley
