Hello all - I still need to weave in some lace in the eyelets that I put in - but I finished this wine cozy from Knitty tonight - super fast to work up.  The pattern is in the archive at Knitty.com.

I'm pretty stoked - I just learned how to knit a month or so ago!

Thanks - it's nothing fancy, I know...but I thought it was pretty good for a beginner.  I was questioning the ability for those last rows to turn into a fake i-cord on the bottom - but I've learned the hard way with crochet patterns that it's best just to do what is written rather than try and come up with what you think they should have done...

I think I'm going to swank them up a bit for my sisters - and that's going to be the Christmas gift this year...

I've been thinking about making one of these for someone who is retiring this year (and stuffing it with wine of course Wink  )  How long would you say it took?  Were you done in an evening?

Yeah - I think you could easily do it in an evening - I did most of it at work while I was on long calls...
I think I'm going to try and modify it so that it will accomdate a champagne bottle.  a little bit bigger bottom, etc.

Very cool!  Was it hard to do the bottom part?

If I was any more open, I'd be inside out.
