Okay, I considered putting this on the wedding occaisions board... but it wasn't for a wedding, it was just my a-level projects. So I figured putting it up here would do

I made a wedding dress :O
well... a corset and skirt.
I am shocked it actually worked.
Also, it's kinda my first real corset, and since both me and my teacher are quite unexperienced in that area I pretty much had to work it out for myself, was pretty fun though

So, details, though I'm sure a lot of you will just skip to pictures

The corset is made out of silk dupion with a crepe-back satin lining, it is steel boned (spiral on the bust seams, all others were plastic coated), has a steel busk and I also set the eyelets in the back. It is my first real corset, and though I couldn't completely "fill it out", I'm still so glad it ended up fitting me. There is also bead detailing on four of the panels, and the side and bust panels are pin-tucked (took me 4 hours...), and I made the bias binding from some left over silk.
The skirt under layer is made from the same crepe-back satin as the lining of my corset, I inserted a concealed zipper in the back and it reaches to just above my waist. There is a godet insert in the back with a slight train, beaded at the bottom. I added a light chiffon overlay, which has been hand stitched and ruched up to create a bustle effect going into a 4 (or so) metre train, hemmed in satin ribbon.
Okay, enough details? Here are the photos (credit to my gorgeous best friend, my dad, and my fellow classmate's boyfriend for taking the photos... since I was modeling the dress)
